Anna (Anne) Marie (Kozak) Burgemeister, 96 of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully at Avina Living of Milwaukee on Thursday, September 3, 2026.
Anne was born on March 1, 1930 in Lugerville, Town of Flambeau, Wisconsin to Paul and Caroline (Kelbus) Kozak. Her early education days were spent at South Fork School in Lugerville. She later attended Milwaukee Area Technical College and worked as a secretary. She married Herbert Burgemeister on March 17, 1970. They made their home in the Milwaukee area. Her hobbies included knitting, sewing, needlework, flower arranging, and painting in oil and watercolors.
Anne’s soft-spoken, easy-going attitude and caring way will always be remembered along with her ability to recall and share the family history of so many people. She will be missed that all who knew her.
She is survived by three step-children: Carol Stillman of Thiensville, Wisconsin, Virginia Holton of Brown Deer, Wisconsin, and Herbert Burgemeister, Jr. of Delafield, Wisconsin. She is also further survived by grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Herbert, on September 9, 1991, her parents, Paul and Caroline, and her 10 brothers and sisters: Paul (Kathryn), Louie (Anna), Carl (Julia), Frank (Lana), George (Ruth), Joe (Laura), John (Judy), Mary (John) Simurdiak, Julie (Clarence) Stafford and Cecilia (Frank) Krebel.
As per Anne’s wishes, there will be no funeral service.
