Angeline (Angie) Costakis (nee Pappas) Passed away peacefully on January 31, 2024 at the age of 98. Preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Dina Pappas. Loving Mother of Chris (Rose Mary) Costakis, Demae De Rocher and Alexander Costakis. Beloved Grandmother (Yia Yia) of Tina Klawitter, Christie Costakis, Jim De Rocher, Joe (Grace) De Rocher and Eli De Rocher. Proud Great Grandmother of Amelia Klawitter, Noah Klawitter, Savanna De Rocher, Axl De Rocher and Charlotte De Rocher. Further survived by relatives here, and in Greece.
There are endless gracious words and stories to share about Angie; she was a spirited, high-energy, social butterfly who treasured her family. Angie was born and raised in Milwaukee, a daughter of Greek immigrants, she was very proud of her heritage, and was devoted to the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church.
She embodied the word classy and often helped her customers do the same, while dedicating 50 years working part time for Gimbels/Boston Store.
As a registrar for Pius XI High School for many years, she loved working with the students. She was very encouraging and vocal in her support of everyone’s exploration of higher education.
Angie had a unique personality, empathetic, faithful, and light-hearted, with a strong sense of humor that would shine through her smile.
She was an avid conversationalist and enjoyed experiencing the arts, from music, books, and plays, to other cultures amongst her worldly travels.
She will be missed by many, and for many of us, in her absence; it is truly the end of an era. May her memory be eternal!
