Andrew “Andy” P. Dretzka

Andrew (Andy) Paul Dretzka, of New Berlin, Wisconsin, passed away unexpectedly on October 15, 2025, at the age of 61.

Andy is survived by his loving wife, Amy (Traxel); his daughter, Emma; and his son, Ethan. He is also survived by his brother, Ken Jr. (Pat); sister, Ellen (Jay) Anderson; brother, Neil (Jenn); sister-in-law, Jennifer Dunn; brother, Phil (Liz); sister-in-law Katie Traxel; his grandcats, Cojack, Diesel, and Xena; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Sr.; mother, Mary Lou (Weighner); and brother, Matt.

Andy grew up in South Milwaukee and Cudahy, Wisconsin. He attended Marquette University where he earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering.

He worked at P&H Mining Equipment for 25 years and ended his successful engineering career at Generac Power Systems in Waukesha. He took great pride in his work and was respected by his colleagues for his dedication and expertise.

Andy approached life with curiosity and a calm strength, never seeking the spotlight but always being the steady presence others could rely on. Whether sharing a corny dad joke, lending a hand, or offering thoughtful advice, Andy made those around him feel capable and valued. He was the kind of person who found joy in the simple moments—especially those spent with family, a good craft beer, or a new episode of NCIS. During his life, Andy also enjoyed caring for various pets, bowling, bicycling, ski racing, and golfing.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2025, from 10:30 AM – 2:30 PM at Aud Mar Banquet Hall – Bass Bay Brewhouse, S79W15851 Aud Mar Drive, Muskego, Wisconsin.
