Andrew “Andy” J. Nuesslein

Died peacefully Friday, August 5, 2016 at the age of 90. Loving husband of Diane (nee Burke). Awesome Dad of Nancy (Steve) Grabczyk, Barb (Jeff) Weitzer, and Mary Ann (Joe) Cuccio. Proud Grandpa of Jaclyn (Brian), Nicole (Brett), Randy (Jena), Heidi, Lauren (Chris), and Michael (Stacy). Great-Grandpa of Jack, Collin, Nolan, the late Joseph, and one anticipated great-grandchild “Bubbles”. Brother of Frieda, Fred, the late Margaret, and the late Mary. Also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Andy was an avid chess player and always looked forward to his Tuesday chess sessions with Mike Beyer. His friends Tom Turowski and Joe Roskopf indulged his passion for Sheepshead. He played tennis “well into his 80s” (although we think he might have embellished a bit), passing on his love of the game to his grandchildren along the way. Reconnecting with his home country of Germany meant a great deal to him, and South Padre Island held a special place in his heart. Of all his travels, gathering with his family on Okauchee Lake was his favorite destination. He was a loyal employee of Eaton Corp for over 39 years. At the age of 17, Andy proudly enlisted in the US Navy, much to his mother’s chagrin.  Andy’s family would like to extend a very special thanks to the staff of Shorehaven and Angels Grace Hospice for their compassionate care and to the many close friends of Diane and family.
