Age 100, a former long-time resident of Wauwatosa passed away August 11, 2019, in her residence at Serenity Villa in Slinger, Wisconsin. She was born in Beaver Dam to Charles and Frances (Beletsky) Young. Alice graduated from Beaver Dam High School, and she also graduated from Marquette College of Nursing in Milwaukee. Alice married Henry A. Breaker in 1945. She retired from her nursing career at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Milwaukee where after 25 years she became a member of their Quarter Century Club. Alice was an avid Milwaukee Brewer fan, and she also enjoyed exercise classes, gardening, volunteering, traveling, and church activities.
She is survived by her three sons John (Sally) Breaker of Menasha, Michael (Janet) Breaker of Oconomowoc, and Peter (Christie) Breaker of Hermitage, TN. Alice has seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She is further survived by a nephew Jon Marvel of Florida. Alice was preceded in death by her husband Henry Breaker.
The family wishes to express a thank you to the nurses and staff at Luther Manor in Wauwatosa, Kathy Hospice in West Bend, Horizon Hospice, and Serenity Villa Assisted Living in Slinger. Further thanks to ‘Team Alice’ from St. Bartholomew’s who visited and prayed with her regularly.
Gathering will be held at St. Bartholomew Episcopal Church; N27 W24000 Paul Court, Pewaukee, Wisconsin, 53072, on Friday, August 23, 2019, 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM. Celebration of Life at 12:00 PM.
