It’s officially fall in Milwaukee, Brookfield, and New Berlin – one of the Krause team’s favorite times of the year. In addition to the natural beauty of the fall colors around us and the crisp air and chilly nights, one of the holidays we love best is right around the corner…Halloween is upon us! The Milwaukee County area serves up some of the best spooky treats and event to help get you and your family in the holiday spirit.
Start your season with a visit to a local pumpkin patch. Pack up the kids and a lunch box and enjoy the petting zoos, tractor rides, and corn mazes while you select the perfect pumpkin to perch on your porch. One great option is Swan’s Pumpkin Farm in Franksville, or Jim’s Pumpkin Farm in Germantown for the perfect family photo opportunity – and a few tasty local treats!
For even more family-friendly spooky fun, look no further than one of the most beloved family fun centers in the area: Betty Brinn Children’s Museum. The museum’s “Not So Scary” Halloween party features goodies, treat stops, and activities on October 27 and 28. Free for members and included in admission for non-members, you’ll enjoy activities all over the museum – don’t forget your costumes!
Join the 8th Annual Dia de los Muertos celebration at Walker Square Park on October 28. A variety of free activities are planned to celebrate and honor the lives of your loved one who have died. Activities include a traditional parade at 2 PM. in which participants are encouraged to walk with framed photos or other artifacts memorializing loved ones. A walk/run is scheduled at noon for all ages.
Head to the Village of Shorewood Halloween night! The event is free and features a kids costume contest, ghost story reading, and free refreshments while you prepare to ride the Ghost Train! Meet at the Oak Leaf Trail bridge…the Ghost Train runs at 8 PM and 8:15 PM.
Above all, the Krause team wishes you a safe and enjoyable holiday, filled with spooky scenes and family fun!
