Pat (Meves) Fleming passed away on Monday, October 17, 2016 at the age of 80. She was the oldest of four children, born to Fred and Mary Meves in Sheboygan, WI on October 15, 1936. Pat married Cletus Fleming at St. Clements Catholic church on December 31, 1960. Pat and Clete had six children. Michael, Milwaukee. Mary (Mark) Alderton, Denver, CO, Kathleen (Tom) Shinkle, West Allis, Daniel (Jill), NYC, New York, Colleen Rosengarten, Milwaukee, Thomas (Jane), West Allis.
Pat’s parents and her brother, Michael, preceded her in death. She is survived by her brother, David (Judy) Meves from Sheboygan, WI and her sister, Kathy Goebel from Charleston, South Carolina and sister-law Sandy Meves, Fort Meyers, Florida. She also leaves fifteen grandchildren, four great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Pat graduated from Sheboygan Central high school in 1955 and UW LaCrosse in 1959. Her first teaching position was at Menomonee Falls High School. After raising her children Pat did substitute teaching at many schools in the Waukesha and West Allis School districts and began teaching at Custer High School in Milwaukee in 1990. She also was a part time instructor at Alverno College for over twenty years. Pat always had a great interest in literature, which led her to obtain a Master’s degree in reading from Cardinal Stritch College in 2001.
Pat was always involved in volunteer work at church, school and in the community. Swimming was one of her passions and she was a swimming instructor for the West Allis-West Milwaukee Recreation Department. She gave swimming lessons to many children and adults and taught Water Aerobics for adults for the Recreation Department for over thirty years. She played tennis and golf was a member of several book clubs.
Pat’s greatest love was her family whom she adored and supported in any way possible.
Pat had a long struggle with Alzheimer’s disease and for the past several years has been a resident of Silverado/Brookfield.
The family would like to thank the staff at Silverado for the attention and care that was provided for her and allowing her the freedom to walk around and continue teaching. In lieu of flowers,

Additional Gathering at St. Alphonsus Parish, 6060 West Loomis Road, Greenfield, WI on Saturday October 29th from 10:00 AM -11:00 AM. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM.
