Winifred was born on October 26, 1927 in Park Rapids, MN. She spent her childhood in Park Rapids, MN and Indianola, IA. Later her family moved to Beloit, WI. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1949 with a degree in Home Economics and Textile Chemistry. She married Ron in 1949 and they lived in Beloit, Madison and Milwaukee.
She was a talented seamstress, quilter, baker, gardener and woodworker, making patio furniture. She and Ron traveled extensively through the United States and Europe, treasuring the trips and reunions with her family.
They were big UW Badger fans and attended many games. She was a long time member of Fox Point Lutheran Church. She will be remembered for her Norwegian Christmas dinners. Winnie had a heart of gold and loved to give rather than receive. Most of all she loved her family and looked forward to every gathering.
