Passed away peacefully June 9, 2016 at the age of 92. Husband of Mary, Father of David (Mary Ellen), Teresa Searing (Allen), Robert, and Kathleen (Michael Lake). Grandfather of Daniel and Bryan Searing, Benjamin and Jacob Haas. Great-grandfather of Olivia and Emerson Searing, Cooper and Cameron Haas. He was preceded in death by his father Percy Haas and mother A Marion (Malmstad).
Bill was born and raised in Racine, WI. He graduated from Washington Park H.S. in 1942 and served in the U.S. armed forces from 1943-1945. Bill married Mary Jane Miller in 1947. He went on to graduate from the University of Wisconsin, Madison with a Bachelors Degree in chemical engineering. Bill worked professionally as a chemical engineer for Globe Union, Milprint and the State of Wisconsin DNR. The Haas family was devoted parishioners at St Margaret Mary and St Mary's Hales Corners. Bill and Mary were active members of the Knights of Columbus Wauwatosa Council #3702 for many years. Bill was also an avid golfer, bridge and sheepshead player and senior softball and volleyball player. His altruistic spirit led him to live longer than any other Haas in the past seven generations! Bill is loved and missed by all.
Memorial Services will be held Wednesday, June 15th at San Camillo, 10200 W. Bluemound Rd. with a greeting at 10AM, Mass at 11 followed by a Life Celebration with lunch. Memorials in Bill's name can be made to David Haas. Donations will be distributed to charities according to Bill's wishes.
