William “Bill” Jordan, age 87, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2021.
Bill was born on April 6, 1934 in Stanley, Wisconsin and grew up there with his parents and two brothers, Pat and Bryce. He played football at Stanley High School, and met the love of his life, Shirley, at a high school football game in Cornell.
He graduated from Stanley High School in 1952 and then attended UW-Eau Claire for a year before enlisting in the US Army. He served as a radio operator at Fort Bliss in Texas.
Bill and Shirley were married on May 21, 1955 in Cornell, Wisconsin.
Bill was honorably discharged from the Army in 1956 and returned to UW-Eau Claire where he earned Bachelor of Science degrees in math and physics. He received his master’s degree in math from UW-Eau Claire in 1969.
He went on to teach math and science at Athens High School, Cornell High School, Lancaster High School, Homestead High School, and Brookfield Central High School.
He later had careers in real estate and electric motor sales.
He retired in 1997 and then spent several years traveling the United States with Shirley in an RV. They were often joined in their travels by the Hillmers, the Pechaceks, and the Eleyets.
Throughout his life, Bill was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. He enjoyed both camping and canoeing. In his later years he became interested in woodworking.
He was an active member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Brookfield, serving as a deacon and usher for many years.
Bill enjoyed being a member of the Golden Kiwanis in Waukesha. He was a lifetime member of the Menomonee Falls Gun Club, and an NRA member. He was also a member of Pheasants Forever and Ducks Unlimited.
He will be remembered as a loving husband, caring father, and a good friend who loved to talk, enjoy a good story, and always had a smile on his face.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Emma, and his brother, Forrest (Pat).
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Shirley; son Alan; daughter Karen (Kelvin) Walton; grandchildren, Ian and Jordan Walton; brother, Bryce Jordan; and many other relatives and friends.

A gathering time will be held at Calvary Lutheran Church (1750 N. Calhoun Road, Brookfield, WI) on Friday, September 17, from 1:00 PM until a Memorial Service at 3:00 PM.
