Mr. William C. Boyd affectionately known as “Duke” was born June 27, 1957 to, Ms. Rose Anna Boyd. William accepted Christ at an early age at Alexander Missionary Baptist Church of Somerville, TN. William married Barbara Jean Robinson and to that union there were no children born but he accepted her 3 children as his own. William received his formal education in Somerville, TN.
William was a hard-working man with an incredible work ethic. As a young man he worked for Fayette County in Somerville, TN as a county worker. He relocated to Milwaukee, WI in the late 70’s and worked at General Casting Corp. doing general labor. Duke was also gifted to do home renovations and did roofing both privately and for other companies most notably for Milwaukee Public Schools. He was also great at working on cars as he loved cars (specifically, Cadillacs). Duke loved his family and had a huge heart. He gave freely to all that knew him. Duke was also a funny guy, he loved to laugh and be around people and have a good time. If you were around him long you knew Duke could be very outspoken. Duke had a huge heart for his nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews-often taking on father like roles for them. William had such a huge personality that the family has gifted him with many nicknames most notably; Ross Perot, Duke, and our favorite “The Captain”.
William departed this life on Thursday, February 25, 2021. He was preceded in death by his beloved Mother Ms. Rose Anna Boyd. He leaves to cherish his memory his Sisters: Ernestine Griffin, Evelyn Baskerville, Vivian Trotter, Mary Spencer and a loving cousin he loved as a sister, Cynthia Boyd, Brothers: Allen Boyd, Nuetra Boyd, and Ben Boyd, One Aunt, Mrs. Lizzie (Rev. Robert) McFarland, and one Uncle Mr. Henry Lee Boyd and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.
