Virginia Oistad “Ginny”

Virginia "Ginny" Oistad (nee Woolley) passed away on November 30th, 2015 surrounded by family at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee, WI. She is survived by her devoted husband Dale, sister Alice, daughter Beth and her husband Charles and son Chad and his wife Erina, eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and a legacy of devotion to her family, church and community.

Ginny was born on May 18, 1944 in Rochester, MN to Lyle and Lois Woolley. She was the second of three children. Dale and Ginny were high school sweethearts who met at John Marshall High School in Rochester and were married on June 20th, 1964. In 1971 they moved to West Allis.

Ginny was an avid traveler and was never happier than when on the road, usually with a tour group in tow and a camera at the ready. In her travels she has been to every continent, except Antarctica, and enjoyed sharing her travels with all. Ginny was a woman with deep roots in her faith and enjoyed volunteering when the opportunities were available. She was extremely dedicated to her family and friends, and had a positive impact on everyone she met.

Services will be held on Saturday, December 5th at Mt. Hope Lutheran Church, 8633 W Becher Street, West Allis, WI, 53227. Visitation will begin at 10AM, services at 11AM, with a gathering in the church basement afterward. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made out to Mount Hope Lutheran Church or Luther Manor.
