Dr. Alan Wolfelt, a leading death educator, author, and grief counselor, reminds us that, “Long after the funeral, you can still call on the power of ceremony to help you remember and mourn the person who died….Ceremonies are helpful in grief because they give us a time and place to express our thoughts and feelings. They give us a structure for mourning.”
Krause Funeral Homes encourages you to create a new ceremony: donate blood in memory of someone special to you. This life saving donation can be a ceremony that you use to remember a family member, friend, neighbor, or colleague. This generous act is a meaningful way to remember those that we’ve lost, while helping our neighbors in need. After your donation, you’ll be invited to light a candle in your loved one’s memory and write their name and brief message in a tribute book.
