Valdemar Garcia, 91, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2024.
Valdemar was born in Cotulla, TX, on December 26, 1932, to Gregorio and Concepcion Garcia. He spent his early years in Cotulla and later moved to the Midwest in the 1950s as a migrant worker. Valdemar worked hard to advance his employment and support his family, steadily climbing the ladder through a variety of careers. He ultimately built a fulfilling career as a die caster, dedicating 30 years to Advanced Die Casting.
Valdemar married Pauline Natal in 1957, and together they had five children. He took particular joy in spending time with his family, including five generations of siblings, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. He was the life of every party who especially loved dancing with his grandchildren.
He was a devoted husband and father who enjoyed family road trips, dancing, singing, and playing guitar. Throughout his life, Valdemar was active in his community. He entered the service in the Army Infantry in 1951, where he served until 1953. Β He was also a life member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers.
Valdemar is survived by his children Mary Ann Garcia, Esther Garcia (Mario Aranda), Gloria Herron (Alvin Rodriguez) and Gerald Garcia (Melodie); his grandchildren Monica Garcia, Raquel Ortiz, Ramiro Alvarado Jr., Nikiya Herron, Veronica Rivas, and Anna Rivas; and a host of great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Pauline Garcia and their daughter Rosa Garcia.
The family wishes to thank all extended family and friends for the calls, cards, warm memories they have received. Valdemar will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, commitment to honoring his duties, joyful spirit, and lasting impact on all who knew him.
A Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM – 6:30 PM on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at Krause Funeral Home, 12401 West National Avenue, New Berlin, Wisconsin.
An additional Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 27, 2024 from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM,Β with Service at 11:00 AM at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 3970 North 92 Street, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Burial at Holy Cross Cemetery.
