Timothy Alan Dunar

Our beloved Timothy Alan Dunar passed away while surrounded by family on Tuesday, January 17 at the age of 73. The son of Andrew and Marion (Bross) Dunar, he was born on July 16, 1949 in Milwaukee, WI.

Tim graduated from Homestead High School in 1967 and received his B.A. and M.B.A. from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee. He had a long career in marketing. He was an active volunteer, with leadership roles in Boy Scouts, Lumen Christi Catholic Church, the United Fund, and Milwaukee Public Television. He also volunteered for the Wisconsin Humane Society for over thirty years, during that time raising hundreds of foster kittens.

The ultimate family man, he always put his family first. He enjoyed reading, theater, concerts, gardening, and sports. He was a wonderful person who was always seeking to improve himself.

He is survived by his best friend and wife of 43 years, Louise Dernehl; his children Katharine, Edward (Kathryn), and Daniel; his grandson Paul; brother Andrew (Catherine) Dunar and sister Cynthia (the late I. James) Church; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A private funeral is planned.

Louise, I am so sorry to learn of your loss. I will keep you and your family in my prayers.

I feel really bad that Tim is not here. I wish he was still here. He was one of the best friends I ever had! I enjoyed calling him. Living in Minneapolis I couldn'r see him regularly. But I Wish I could have.

I was so saddened to hear about Tim's passing. I remember him and and all of his leadership roles at Homestead. Wishing you and your whole family peace, grace and strength, Louise.

It’s been a pleasure knowing Tim over many years from working together at the telephone company to many card game sessions. Tim will be greatly missed.

Tim , God's newest angel The union of 43 years between Tim and Louise was God's perfect blessing. Tim's legacy will live on through Louise and their children because he lives on in their hearts.
