Passed away peacefully on Friday, August 1, 2014. Age 85. Loving husband of Eleanor R. (nee Meyer). Cherished father of Susan (Jim) Bartlein and the late Deborah Roettgers. Fond father-in-law of David Roettgers and Jim Bartlein. Proud grandfather of the late Amy Kunkel, Heather (Jon) Jurgenson, Jeffrey Kunkel, Molly (Cody) Griebling, Jennifer Roettgers, Laura (Ben) Weiland, and Michael Roettgers. Great-grandfather of Ava and Isla Jurgenson. Also survived by two step-grandsons J.B. and Jeff Bartlein, and step-great-grandson Micah Bartlein; brother-in-law Don (Marion) Meyer; niece Dana Gilboy. Preceded in death by his sisters June Heidenreich and Shirley Wustrack. Further survived by special friend Edward F. Behling, other relatives and many friends.

Visitation at ST. DOMINIC CATHOLIC CHURCH, 18255 West Capitol Drive, Brookfield, Friday, August 8, 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM. Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 PM. Entombment with Military Honors at Wisconsin Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials appreciated to Pulmonary Hypertension Association, <a href="http://www.phassociation.org">www.phassociation.org</a>.

Proud veteran of the U.S. Marines and Army Reserves. Involved in numerous organizations including Military Officers Association of America, and Employers Support of Guard and Reserves, The Reserves Officers Association, and 128th Air Refueling Wing & 440th Airlift Wing, Knights of Columbus and The United Way. He also worked at A.O. Smith Corporation for 41 years.
