Born in Cherokee, Kansas on September 11, 1933 and passed away on July 17, 2010 in Milwaukee, WI. She is now home with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was 76.She is survived by her husband, Ray L. Russell, son Robin L. Russell, daughter Carrie S. Russell, grandson Ryan J. Russell and daughter-in-law Beverley R. Russell. Also survived by friends, Arnold and Alice Johnson, Dick and Rolanda Johnson and many other dear friends and relatives.Theda was a Christian. She loved her Lord and would pray and read the bible for hours each day. She was the ultimate prayer warrior. Theda loved all animals and especially missed her pet dog, Misty. She also loved the old movies, especially the classics. Theda loved to travel and enjoyed meeting new friends. She also liked to exercise. If anyone ever needed help, Theda was there to help. She helped many people to the Lord and would even help strangers. Theda was the lovely and beautiful wife to Ray and a wonderful mother to her children. Theda loved to write poems. The follow poem is one of her better ones:"A Rose"Like that white rose I want to be "You know, dear Lord, of what I speak.Beautiful white rose so lovely to see,As it opened, more lovely it became,I did not touch it; I let it be.Delightful it wasAs it opened, More and more each day,Bringing more beauty to display. Then, one by one,The soft, white petals began to fall.I let it be – although it somewhat saddened meAs each petal fell. But I was drawn to watchAs slowly it gave up each petal. They fell so softlyI let each petal lie where it fell,When all had fallen,They looked so beautiful lying thereYielded, totally, to Thee "As we must also be.
