I was looking up information on the Jeske family who lived in Brookfield in the 1960s and 70s when I was growing up there. This jumped out at me because I am a pancreatic cancer survivor of nearly 6 years. 10 hour Whipple surgery, chemotherapy and chemo radiation. What a beautiful woman this was! My condolences and cyber hugs from Oregon.

I was honored to meet Sue at the UW-Madison Relay for Life 3 years ago. We met up again at the same event a year later. My sister Christa was a good friend of Sue's & told me to look for her. I was at the event with my daughter, a cancer survivor. Sue greeted us with warmth & hugs. We met Karl & the rest of the Jeske family. She & my daughter carried the banner at the start of the Relay both years with big smiles on their faces. What I truly admire about this amazing woman Sue Jeske is that she was at this cancer event helping raise funds to find cures for all types of cancers. Bigger than that though was that Sue was there supporting/comforting other affected by cancer along with their families & their friends. It reminded me that in the midst of whatever it is with which we are struggling, we can find a way to smile and show warmth to those around us.

We have all be blessed to work with Sue Jeske RN. for the past 14 years. We have come to know her as a good friend. She always called us her “second family”. Sue took care of Southwest families while she battled her own health issues. She handled everyday with grace and faith! She was a hard worker, always challenged herself to learn more, always striving for excellent. Sue treated everyone with kindness and respect. I can sincerely say that we here at Southwest are all better people for knowing Sue.. Her second family will always love and honor her. She will never be forgotten. Our condolences to Sue’s Husband Karl and her children Matthew and Rachel

I'm so sorry for your loss. May you find comfort from your memories, as well as the comfort found in God’s word the bible. In the face of such tragedy, many wonder why God allows such suffering. In the bible, Romans 5:12 says, "That is why, just as through one man (Adam) sin entered into the world and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men because they had all sinned." How loving of God to promise what is found at Revelation 21:4 which says, “And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”
