Susan M. Mentkowski

(Nee Howard) Of Delafield, Wisconsin, passed away on October 15, 2011, at the age of 63. Beloved wife of Timothy F. Mentkowski, she is survived by her mother, Marion Howard, and preceded in death by her father, Wendell. She is further survived by sisters Kathy (Brad) Bernstein, JoAnn Howard, and Mary (Peter) Hartman. Also survived by mother-in-law Marcia Mentkowski, brothers-in-law James (Anne) Mentkowski, Thomas (Sheila) Mentkowski, and sister-in-law SaraLee (Jay) Allison. Loving aunt of many nieces and nephews.Susan graduated from Catholic Memorial High School in Waukesha and received her BA in Education and Mathematics from St. Norbert College in DePere, Wisconsin. She spent her career teaching mathematics for over 36 years at Greenfield High School, Greenfield, Wisconsin, where she was named Teacher of the Year. She was committed to education and to her students, and was a highly valued mentor to both students and to faculty. Finding a soulful connection to nature, Sue cherished her times traveling in the wilds of the West/Southwest and Alaska with her husband of over 40 years, Tim. Sue's loving, spirited, often teasing ways and her extraordinary ability to "light up" the fun on Upper Nemahbin Lake will be deeply missed by family and friends.The family is celebrating her life Tuesday, October 25, at Krause Funeral Home, 12401 West National Avenue, New Berlin, Wisconsin, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a service at 7:00 PM.
