Steven Bartley

Passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, June 27, 2010 at the age of 60. Beloved husband of Shakoor "Sharon" Lee. Devoted son of Ria and the late Roy Bartley. Father of Tiaya Bartley. Step-father of Nikole Buckner, Peter Karon of Vancouver British Columbia and Lauranne Fisher of Nova Scotia. Grandfather of Vanessa and Veronica Bartley. Step-grandfather of Seth, Faith and Genesis Buckner, Robin and Holli Fisher of Nova Scotia. Brother of Glenn Bartley and Linda (Sarge) Rios. Uncle of Marie Bodek and Austin Partridge. Special friend of Karla Rabien and Allana Downie.Steven suffered a severe cardiac event while he and his wife Shakoor were walking near the Lake, which they did so often. Steven was hospitalized at Columbia St. Marys Hospital after a heroic fight where he quietly transitioned from this life very early on Sunday morning. He and Shakoor were surrounded by family and friends throughout his brief hospital stay. Stories were shared by many who came to visit about his unique approach to life, and his caring way with others. A great sense of loss is felt by Shakoor, her family, Steven's family and friends. Memorial Gathering at the FUNERAL HOME, Thursday "Canada Day", July 1, 2010, 4-6:45PM. Memorial Service 7PM. In lieu of flowers memorials will be given to Steven's favorite charities.
