Stanley W. Benecky (aka Stan or Stash), passed away unexpectedly with his daughter and son-in-law by his side, on August 27, 2020, at the age of 72. Dear Father of Brenda (Shawn) and Brian, and loving step-father of Tracy (Dan) and Cheryl. Proud grandfather of Kailey, Kyle, Tiffany, Tommy, Tyler, Alex, Sean, Cory, and Meghan. He is preceded in death by his wife, Rosemary Benecky.
Stan was born in Scotland and came to the United States on the Queen Mary when he was two years old. He met his first wife Judy when he was 15 and they married when he was 18. Their son Brian was born two years later in 1968, and daughter Brenda was born in 1971.
Stan served an apprenticeship after graduating from Boys Tech High School and became a machinist. He spent the majority of his career working in the breweries in Milwaukee, including Pabst, Schlitz, and Miller, which is where he met his wife Rose and retired from. Even though Stan was a machinist, he was truly a jack of all trades. He could fix or wire up just about anything.
Stan enjoyed spending time with friends and family, riding his Harley for many years, cruises and traveling to warm destinations. He loved listening to music, singing karaoke, and drinking beer!
Stan and Rose spent many years living in Wind Lake, Wisconsin where they hosted the most amazing parties. They enjoyed life to the fullest and Stan was able to retire at the age of 54. A couple years later they purchased a home in Punta Gorda, Florida, and shortly after that Rose retired. Rose passed away in 2006 and Stan was truly heartbroken. Stan continued to live in Florida eight months out of the year and spend summers in Wisconsin.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2020, at the Legion Hall at Ray & Dot’s Tap, 6351 West Grange Avenue, Greendale, Wisconsin at 4:00 PM with a Remembrance Service at 7:00 PM.
