Sister Carol Marie Haag, SDS went home to God on Sunday, October 21. She was 76 years old and professed 53 years. Carol Marie was born July 18, 1942, in Elyria, Ohio, eldest child of Carl and Helen (Foreman) Haag. She entered Sisters of the Divine Savior in Milwaukee in 1962 and made first vows as Sister Mary Carla in 1965. She returned to her baptismal name before professing perpetual vows in 1971.
Sister Carol Marie’s diverse ministries included teaching business classes in Wisconsin, New Jersey, and Maryland schools. She also used her business skills while serving in the Congregation offices in Rome, Italy and the National Health Institute on Aging in Baltimore, Md. For the last seven years, Sister Carol Marie served with a ministry team at Milwaukee County Children’s Detention Center leading Scripture sessions for incarcerated teens.
Sister Carol Marie is survived by brothers, Robert Haag (Susanne) and Andrew Haag (Mary), her sister Marilyn Dillon (Russell), nieces and nephews, and the Salvatorian Family.
Visitation on Friday, October 26 will begin at 12:15 p.m. at St. Anne’s Salvatorian Campus, 3800 N. 92nd St., Milwaukee, Wisconsin. A remembering service at 12:45 will precede Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 p.m. Burial at Holy Cross Cemetery will take place 9:00 a.m. on Monday, October 29.
