Survived by 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, sister-in-law Carol (Ray) Schluechtermann also Beth Polinske. And many foster children, relatives and friends.
Shirley gave her heart to the man of her dreams 64 years ago. Together they raised 9 children, but their love didn’t stop there. They became foster parents to many children, many who were children with special needs. Her faith was strong and very important to her. She was known as the “hugging lady” because when she met you she didn’t accept a handshake, but stated she does hugs.
She enjoyed flowers, crocheting, bingo, chocolate-covered cherries, going up north and making people laugh and smile. Her favorite thing was any time spent with family and friends. Her smile was a welcomed sight and her gentle touch was of great comfort. She will be missed, but never forgotten.
There will be a time of visitation for Shirley on Thursday, January 21, 2021 from 11:30 AM until 1:15 PM at Krause Funeral Home, 12401 West National Avenue, New Berlin, Wisconsin. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 21, 2021 beginning at 1:30 PM.
Interment will take place at Highland Memorial Park.
