Sandra Kay Reynolds (née Schabell), age 82, passed away peacefully on November 23, 2025, in New Berlin, Wisconsin.
Born on December 15, 1942, in Peoria, Illinois, Sandra was the youngest daughter of Irma and Everett Schabell. She grew up in a loving, close-knit family alongside her siblings Judy, Elwood, Orson, and her late sister June.
After graduating from Elcho High School in Elcho, Wisconsin, she continued her education at the University of Wisconsin–Whitewater, earning a degree in Human Resources with an emphasis in Communications and Public Relations as part of the Class of 1989, reflecting her lifelong dedication to learning and personal growth. Sandra went on to build a meaningful career in Human Resources with General Electric, Midwest Airlines, and later the Medical College of Wisconsin.
On January 4, 1969, Sandra married Don K. Reynolds, with whom she shared a devoted and joyful marriage until his passing in 2024. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, and friends. Their journey took them from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Boston, Massachusetts, where their daughter Kristen was born, and back to Wisconsin where their son Todd was born, before moving to Radford, Virginia, in 1989. In the 1990s, the family settled in Erie, Pennsylvania, where their children completed high school and where many cherished memories were made. They ultimately returned to Wisconsin in 1996, making their home in Waukesha County. A faithful lifelong Lutheran, Sandra was a member of St. Matthews Evangelical Lutheran Church in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin. Sandra will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, and kind spirit. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures like reading a good book, preparing meals that brought loved ones together, and knitting heartfelt gifts for family and friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Kristen Cappiello, and son-in-law, Tony Cappiello; her son, Todd Reynolds, and daughter-in-law, Jessica Reynolds; her grandchildren, Tony and Elizabeth Cappiello; her sister Judy; her brothers Elwood and Orson; as well as many others whose lives she touched with grace and compassion.
