Sandra Kay Chaney, beloved mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully in the arms of her daughter on April 7, 2023 after a long courageous bottle with ovarian cancer. Sandy was a loving mother, grandmother, wife, sister, aunt, and friend. She had an endless love for her family and always put them first. She taught us the value of integrity, love, and hard work. Her fingerprint will forever be engraved in our hearts and memories.
Sandy was born in Elkhorn, WI to the late Dwight and Gladys Radmer on April 21, 1949. She graduated from New Berlin high school and worked as an office manager in the auto industry her entire professional career until her retirement. She embraced her retirement with the hope and optimism of travel. She was faced with the obstacle of two cancer diagnoses and embraced the fight with strength and dignity. She inspired those around her to rise to the occasion and never lose sight of your dreams.
Looking back at the life of this amazing woman, we are inspired by the simplicity of her heart. She was a genuine woman who was able through her actions to whole heartedly embrace the moment and enjoy what life has to offer. Her friendships developed into family. She gave herself fully to those around her and she always put the needs of others before her own. The depth of her love is felt by those that knew her best. Know that a special place in her heart belongs to all those who knew her.
Sandy will forever live in our hearts and our memories. We will think of her eternally, walking barefoot in the sand. smiling as she watches the sun set, waves crashing in front of her, hopeful of tomorrow and grateful for today.
The ocean waves crash on the shore, as I sit here and think of you once more.
The sand between my toes reminds me of how much you loved those.
Butterflies flutter by, as I look up to the sky.
I know you‘re watching over me, and that‘s where you’ll always be,
You loved your family so much, and we‘ll always feel your loving touch.
You were our rock, our guiding light, and we‘ll miss you day and night.
But we know that you‘re at peace, and that your love will never cease.
We’ll keep your memory alive and cherish it, as long as we survive.
Sandra is survived by her two children, Tracey Irene (Ryan) and Eric Chaney (Julie). Her beloved grandchildren, who willed her to fight, longer than thought possible, Zachary, MacKenzie, Alex. and Taylor. Her stepchildren, Scott and Chris and their children, Michael, Jason, and Sydney. Spending eternity with Kenneth Chaney, her beloved husband.
