My dearest condolences. I have not been to WI in over 30 years and plan to visit this month. In anticipation I looked up the malt shop where I used to go nearly every day after school. I have many memories of Mr. Petroff and his malt shop. I'm saddened to see I'm too late to pay him a visit. Many blessings to his family.

We grew up on Forest Home Avenue and Petroff's was always a treat and a quick way for my mom to feed all six of us lunch. We had a family gathering last month and were remembering my mom and how she loved the hamburgers but mostly the chocolate malts. It was always a treat for my dad to send us to Petroff's for sundaes on a Saturday night. I was lucky enough to be able to introduce my daughter to the stand and take the food to Whitnall park to eat on a nice day so many years ago. Thank you for the memories. Your family has much to be proud of and I hope you will smile with your memories. Betty Antholine Martell

Dear "Peach" and family, My deepest sympathy in the loss of your dad. I have so many fond memories of time spent at Petroff's in my teen years. Your dad was a special person, working so hard and still able to put up with all of us making noise and goofing off in the booths. To this day, I still think Petroff's had the best custard ever. May you rest in peace, Sam.

Dear Susan, Barbara, Laura, and Jean ~ My heartfelt condolences. It was so fun growing up with your Dad! His eyes would pop when he'd see us coming. You were the light of his life! He loved making us lunch on hot summer days. He never stopped working, but always made me laugh with his funny comments. His legacy will live on in the memories of many in the community who cherished the Petroff Custard Stand! May you all be comforted. Rest in peace, Uncle Sam!

Many fond memories of my Uncle Sam. Always the joker, and fun to work with at "The Stand". Put the soda cases upside down by the grill and taught me the ropes of the grilling burgers. Always there to stand up for all us kids when needed. Special corner will/has been in my heart for him since I was a kid! Rest In Peace Uncle Sam...you were a Oner!!!
