Ruth Jean Schaefer

Ruth Jean Schaefer (nee Remiker), a long-time resident of New Berlin, passed away on January 27, 2023. Gifted with 99 years of life and 73 years of love and marriage to Frederick Schaefer, who passed away in 2017. A patient mother of the late Tom (the late Priscilla), John (Jenny), Mark (Linda), and Matt (Mari). Further survived by daughters-in-law Ann and Patricia. Loving grandmother of Julie, Scott (Ann), Lisa, (Barb), Krysten (Steve), Becky, Jessica, Adam, Nick (Katie), Hank, Guy. Great-grandmother of Nikki, Brian, Brett, Jay, Derek, Ryan, Jayson, Jake, Lucas, Keira, Nick, Jacob. A caring big sister to the late Betty Jane Grafwallner.

In addition to the full-time task of raising four sons, she worked at several military bases during WWII while her husband served as a sergeant in the Army Air Corp, volunteered at the Wood Veterans Hospital, and worked at West Allis Memorial Hospital, State Bank Hales Corners, and as a freelance writer and artist.

The family invites friends to spend a quiet moment, privately remembering Ruth Jean’s part in your life. A private family service will be held.
