In Memory of Rose Anna Zapp (nee Medley)
Rose (affectionately known as Roseanne by her siblings and Granny by her grandchildren) passed away peacefully on October 10, 2023, at the age of 94. She was a proud and strong woman who will be dearly missed.
Rose was born and raised in Anderson, Indiana on November 15, 1928, the eldest daughter of the late Albert and Anna Medley. She was married to Nathaniel L. Morgan and from their union had two beautiful children, Jack Lamar and Rita Ann.
Rose lived her life full of spirit and determination. After moving from Indiana to Milwaukee during the mid-sixties, she enjoyed a career at the historic leather company Pfister and Vogel.
Her favorite activities were listening to music and dancing, bowling, playing card games with family and friends, playing BINGO and casino slot, and fishing – especially with her siblings.
Rose had a strong Catholic faith and was an active member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church, along with other family members, for many years until its consolidation. Then subsequently attending St. Catherine’s until her mobility slowed.
The proud matriarch of a multigenerational family, Rose leaves to cherish her memory: son, Jack Morgan; brother, Thomas Medley (Jean); grandchildren: Melvin Echols, Tony Morgan, Thrisha Avery, Tiffany Avery-Nelson (Nick), Ebony Morgan; twelve great-grandchildren and seventeen great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and beloved friends.
Rose was preceded in death by her parents: Albert and Anna Medley; beloved daughter, Rita Echols; siblings: Hillard Turner, William Turner, Roland Medley, Larry Medley, and Dorothy Tiggs.
Services will be held on Friday, October 27, at All Saints Catholic Church, 4051 North 25th Street, Milwaukee, at 11:00 AM. Flowers may be sent to All Saints Catholic Church.
