Rosalie found peace on January 17, she was 70 years old. Rosie was a paraprofessional assistant, Special Education Teacher and Principal with the Milwaukee Public Schools from 1976 to 2007. She is survived by her sister Patricia and her brother Robert. She was predeceased by her Parents John and Theresa (Mlaker) Greco.
Rosie attended St Ignatius Grade School and Walker Middle School. She was Valedictorian at South Division High School in the class of 1966. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree at Marquette University in Social Studies Education and her Master of Science degree in Deaf Education from the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee. She received additional training at Gallaudet University for the Deaf in Washington DC for two summers. Upon retirement, she was an assessor for the MTEC Program and a volunteer school tutor for the UNISON program.
Rosie will be remembered for her dedication to her students and their families. Rosie enjoyed traveling. She enjoyed sampling new food, meeting local people and learning new cultures. One of her favorite memories was sipping tea with the homeowner of a thatched-roof house on her India/Nepal trip. Rosie also enjoyed the performing arts and gardening. She rarely missed a broadcast of the Brewers, Packers and Marquette basketball games.
Rosie wished to thank Dr. Nirav Shah, Dr. John Burfeind, Dr. William Hall, Dr. Peter Langenstroer, Dr. Brandon Rebholz, Dr. William Waring, Dr. Lenore Van Santen and Dr. Bruce Berry for their compassionate care. She also wished to thank the staff of Grace Clinic, 7/8 CFAC, 5NE, 5SW and 4SW at Froedtert Hospital, Amada Senior Care, Horizon Home Health, Comfort Keepers and the Zilber Family Hospice.
Services will be held Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Our Lady of Lourdes Church at 11:00 AM, following a Visitation beginning at 9:30 AM.
