Your life and mine shall be valued not by what we take…but by what we give.
A life of giving and caring, cherished husband of Joan (Recknagel) for 68 years, never apart.
Born in West Allis in 1932, attending High School there, followed by an Army draft to 101st Airborne, Korea. After discharge he began college earning a BA from Whitewater, WI, a Masters degree from U.W. Madison. His Doctorial work at Marquette was interrupted when he became a Dean of the Business Division at MATC. He was with the school for 30 years. Earlier he taught at Milwaukee Lutheran High School for 8 years. Upon retiring in 1993 he filled his days with golf, oil painting, reading, wood working, church service and fulfilling Joans unending together lists (around golf)
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Lydia Radtke. Sister Marvella (Paul) Stefanik, brother Kenneth (Beverly) Radtke, nephews Larry Stefanik and Scott Radtke, in-laws William and Esther Recknagel, sister-in-law Audrey (Dean) Pontell.
His nieces and nephews gave him great joy. Judith (Gary) Studer, Neil (Jackie) Stefanik, Peggy (Loren) Jordan, Kathy (Stefanik) Ahrens, Susan Radtke, and their families. So grateful for every friend and associates filling in his years. Through dementia and aphasia, his great faith sustained him and Joan. Member of Christ the Lord Lutheran Church, Brookfield.
