Bob passed from this earthly life into Eternal Life on Saturday, June 25, 2011 after a hard fought battle with cancer and recurrent pneumonia. He was born September 23, 1936 the son of William and Theresa Gebhard (Nee Meyer) who preceded him in death. He shared life with his beloved wife Joan for 53 years. Bob now reunites with Joan, who journeyed to her heavenly home six months ago. As a testament to the marriage and love of Bob and Joan they are survived by their three children Bill (Jodi), Linda (Paul Emery), and Mike (Debbie). Amy, Jessica, Christopher, Michael, Tiffany, Rebecca, Justin, and Kaitlin will miss sharing a pizza at Luigi's with their grandfather after a day at his home on Shawano Lake; which likely included a ride on the pontoon boat, fixing something that needed fixing, and moving some wood. Somehow grandpa, and nobody else, knew which wood was to be used in the campfire and which wood was to be used for heating the house. Jayden, his six month old great-grandson, brought a smile to grandpa. He is also survived by his loving sisters Margaret Gebhard and Dolores Dettmann. His brother Karl preceded him in death. Other relatives and friends who loved him greatly will miss his companionship and camaraderie. The health club and pool in Shawano will need to find a new greeter. Bob's work at Briggs & Stratton spanned 36 years and 9 months. Visitation at ST. MARY CATHOLIC FAITH COMMUNITY, 9520 West Forest Home Avenue, Hales Corners, will be on Thursday, June 30th beginning at 9:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 PM. Entombment will be at Wisconsin Memorial Park immediately after the Mass. Memorials may be sent to the American Cancer Society.
