Robert “Bob” Schultz

Robert (Bob) Kenneth Schultz, 85, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at 2:45 AM, with his wife of 32 years, Betty, by his side.

Bob was born on May 14, 1940, in Milwaukee, the youngest of four sons, to Charles and Clara (Braun) Schultz. He graduated from Riverside High School in 1958. He was drafted into the U.S. Army in September of 1963, First Cavalry Division, and remained in service until 1965. Bob joined the Milwaukee Fire Department in 1967 and retired as a Firefighter HEO EMS after 33 years, in 2000.

Bob filled his days with the things he loved most. He looked forward to annual hunting trips with close friends and family, a weekly card group for several decades, cheering on the Packers, Brewers, and Bucks, golfing, and time spent fishing whenever he had the opportunity. He helped build a cabin with his son, Mike, in the north woods of Wisconsin, just before the birth of his grandson, Kenny. He loved attending the Northwoods Firefighters Picnic in St. Germain for many years.

An accomplished woodworker, Bob was a Supervisor at the West Allis Woodworking Club for over twenty years. He created many beautiful pieces that are now treasured by his family and fill their homes and hearts. He was always generous with his time and expertise, including renovating two homes alongside his step-daughter, Lynn, projects that reflected both his craftsmanship and his steady, supportive presence.

Bob also loved to travel, with favorite trips including Spain, Switzerland, Las Vegas, many cruises, numerous trips to Montana, and of course his favorite, Yellowstone National Park.

Fort Myers Beach held a special place in Bob’s heart and became a second home of sorts, where he and Betty returned annually for nearly two decades. Time spent there with family and friends was filled with pool days, trolley rides, great food, live music, walks on the beach, and evening sunsets. Although Bob often joked, with his trademark dry humor, “Once you’ve seen one sunset, haven’t you seen them all?” he happily humored his family and shared in the sunset glow each night. Bob especially enjoyed sitting down to a good meal with family. He never missed an opportunity to praise Lynn’s wife, Tyllie, for her cooking, famously declaring meal after meal, “THIS was the best meal ever.”

Bob is survived by his beloved wife, Betty, his children, Brian Schultz, Michael (Amy) Schultz, Evelyn (Frank) Schmidt, Lynn (Tyllie Barbosa) Mutchler, and Marc (Sara) Mutchler. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Shirley Schultz and Marlene Schultz, and their families, as well as his sister-in-law Barb Schuler, her husband Ron, and family.

He was a proud and devoted grandfather to Cassie, Leanna, Steven, Ashley, Brianna, Kenny, Elena, and Brandon and several great-grandchildren. Bob especially loved spending time with his grandchildren, cheering them on in their many sports and delighting in their artistic pursuits.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Clara; his siblings, Edward, Charles, and Ronald; and his daughter-in-law, Karen.

Bob will be remembered for his generous spirit, his bright smile, and his kindness.

Services will be held at Krause Funeral Home, 12401 West National Avenue, New Berlin, Wisconsin, on Monday, February 16, 2026. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, followed by a Memorial Service at 1:00 PM.
