Robert James Gross, age 58, of Sheboygan, Wisconsin, passed away on Wednesday, April 5th, 2023, due to complications of a lengthy battle with lung disease. Just like he dealt with his experiences in life, Robert faced his illness with courage and strength; he wanted to spend as much quality time with his loved ones as possible. On his final day, he was surrounded by close family and friends, including his daughter, Tiffany Wolf, whom he adored more than anything.
Beloved Hero and Father of Tiffany Wolf. Papa to Carter and Chase Wolf. Former Husband to Stephanie Nistor. Son of Richard (Deborah) Gross and the late Mary Gross. Brother to Rodney (Barb) Gross and Richard Gross. Step-brother to Wendy Schraml and late Wanda Brissette. Uncle to many nieces and nephews including: Brandon Gross, Katie Billodeau, Lauren Schimmel, Ryan Neverman, Josh Beyer, Kaylie Franco, Sylvia Gross, late Rachel Gross, Alisha Boulter, Amber Posen, Hannah Schraml, Matt Statezny, Mitch Statezny, Michelle Statezny, Mckenna Statezny, Brandon Nistor, Logan Nistor, and Jordan Nistor. Deeply missed by many extended family and friends.
Robert, known as Bob or Bobby to his closest friends, was the epitome of a hardworking Do-It-Yourself-er. There was literally nothing that he could not fix or do. He took pride in his work at companies such as Semco and Manitowoc Cranes. The most notable was his 20+ years of service in the trucking industry, driving for Roehl Transport.
He always had a joke or story to tell. He loved to play pranks on those closest to him, especially on April Fools’ Day. He enjoyed many outdoor activities including hunting, camping, boating, and fishing. His other hobbies included riding his motorcycle and playing poker.
Robert held many titles in his life: dad, son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. However, his favorite role was being a grandparent, or Papa, to Carter and Chase Wolf. He loved nothing more than spending time with his grandsons, whether it was watching movies, going to their baseball and soccer games, or having water gun fights.
Robert Gross loved life and having a good time, so in his honor, a celebration of life services will be held at Potawatomi Hotel and Casino, 1721 West Canal Street, Milwaukee, Wisconsin on Saturday, April 29th, from 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM. Special time will be set aside for people to share their favorite memory of Robert.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in his memory be made to The American Lung Association.
