Died peacefully in the arms of his Lord on Thursday, October 7, 2010, at the age of 90. Dear brother of the late Ruth B. (Everett P.) Hokanson. Uncle of Paul R.(Pam) Hokanson, of Girard, PA and Everett J. Hokanson of Milwaukee, WI. Also survived by Kris (Sally) Hokanson, special friends, AudreyKrug of Campbellsport, WI, Donna Loose of Milwaukee, WI, other relatives and friends.Visitation at the Funeral Home on Friday, October 15, 2010, 10:00-11:00 AM. Funeral Service at 11:00 AM with Pastor Kenneth Fisher officiating. Burial to follow at Valhalla Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial appreciated to Risen SaviorLutheran Church, 9550 W. A special thanks to VITAS Hospice for the compassion showed to Bob during the last weeks of life. A complete and sincere gratitude to the entire staff, including aides, at Wisconsin Lutheran Living Center. A special thanks to Amy Taglienti and Sharon Babler for their outstanding care showered on Bob during his entire stay at the living center.During his lifetime, Bob was a proud WWII Navy veteran, the past trustee of the American Kidney Fund, a past Freedom Writer, a volunteer of Older Adult Programs and Shoreline Interfaith and a "Scholar" of North Shore Library Expansion in 1998. He was a past member of Fox Point Lutheran Church and is now a memberof Risen Savior Lutheran Church.
