Richard John Kleinhans, Jr. passed away on December 12, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. Rich was born on July 9, 1971, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Milwaukee, WI. He grew up in Brookfield, WI and graduated from Brookfield East High School in 1989. He lived in Milwaukee and Menomonee Falls throughout his life before settling in his Oconomowoc home in 2008. Rich worked at Carter’s, Benson Manufacturing, Lifetime Door, and most recently, Bravo Manufacturing Company. He was a volunteer firefighter with the Menomonee Falls Fire Department: Station 1 for ten years.
His life was full of memories of ski trips, days on the lake, Nascar races, and motorcycle rides. Rich’s greatest accomplishment was raising a strong and kind son. He enjoyed being a part of and watching Korey’s life grow through sports, education, marriage, and the recent birth of his daughter, making Rich a first time grandfather. He loved his family and friends abundantly. He could light up any room with his infectious laugh and cheerful smile.
He is survived by his grandmother, Josephine Rossow; mother, Sally Kleinhans; brother, Dale (Melanie) Kleinhans; brother, Jason Kleinhans; son, Korey (Karlee) Kleinhans; grandchild, Lyla Kleinhans; uncles Roger (Sheila) Kleinhans and Rick Rossow; aunts Cheryl Millholland, Diane Eacho, and Katie Kleinhans. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Elaine Kleinhans, Leroy Kleinhans and Gilbert Rossow; father, Richard Kleinhans, Sr.; cousin, Sgt. 1st Class Donald Eacho.
The family would like to thank the staff at Aurora Medical Center in Summit, WI for their care and support, and Krause Funeral Home in Brookfield, WI for assisting the family.
A Visitation and Memorial Service will take place on Thursday, December 23, 2021, from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Krause Funeral Home, 21600 West Capitol Drive, Brookfield, Wisconsin.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the family for the education of Rich’s granddaughter, Lyla Kleinhans.
