Richard C. Rogge

Passed away peacefully August 11, 2014 after a courageous 6 month battle with colon cancer. Beloved and cherished husband of Linda (née St. John) for 36 years. Loving and proud father of Michelle Or, Elizabeth (Kent) Rogge-Gordon, Steven (Jean) Kaske and Michelle Kaske. Proud "Grandpa Richard" to Emily and Kendall Kaske. Dear brother-in-law to Patricia (Jack Hawthorne) St. John, Mary St. John, Michael (Stephanie) St. John, Margaret (Mark) McArdle and Pamela St. John-Filipiak. Amusing uncle to Bryan, Brett, Nathan and Hannah. Close friend to Stuart (the late Sandy) Hoffman, Todd and Kathy Gordon and our Lindo Mar family. Preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Eleanor Rogge. Further survived by other relatives and friends.

Richard grew up in the old German section of Milwaukee, graduating from Rufus King High School where he became very involved in music. While attending UW-Milwaukee, he traveled to France, auditioned and won a scholarship to the Paris Conservatory of Music for three years from which he graduated and earned First Prize in Classical Saxophone. Richard returned to Milwaukee, graduated from UW-Milwaukee and taught music in MPS for several years. He then moved to NYC to obtain a Masters in Musical Performance from the Julliard School of Music. Richard later branched out into real estate development, primarily in Mequon for 25 years.

Special thanks to Dr. Puffer and the loving support of the nurses at Columbia St. Mary's Mequon. The family would also like to thank the numerous nurses "our angels" that rendered loving care and compassion to Richard during his final days. Added thanks to Horizon Hospice Care.

Visitation to be held Saturday, August 16, 2014 at the Funeral Home, 9000 West Capitol Drive, from 1:00 – 3:00 PM. Service to follow at 3:00 PM.
