Peter Seeg Jr. was born June 21, 1943 to Lydia and Peter Seeg Sr. in Milwaukee WI. They lived in a small apartment in downtown Milwaukee were Peter used the downtown area for exploration and it became his playground. Peter had a love of trains which stemmed from his outings with his father going to the train yards to watch the locomotives pull in. Another hobby that Peter picked up as a young child was stamp collecting. Peter used to explore the halls of the Milwaukee Courthouse at the end of the day to look thru the wastebaskets that were left outside of the offices to look for discarded envelopes so he could take the stamps for his collection. He was a such a common endearing fixture in the courthouse the janitors got to know him and what he was doing that they started saving stamps for him as well.
Eventually his family moved into a home in Milwaukee off Hampton Ave where he attended Garden Homes Lutheran Elementary School and then he attended Rufus King High School graduating in 1961. Peter joined the Army right after high school and went overseas to Korea where he learned to drive, maintain and repair tanks. Peter returned home from the Army and took a job at Evinrude Outboard Motors as a tool and dye inspector and remained there until his retirement at age 57.
In 1968 Peter married Karen Meddaugh and they started a family having two children, son, Peter J. Seeg III and daughter, Tracy E. Seeg. He was also a very proud grandparent of Shauna Kunesh and his great grandchildren Jayden and Damien.
He loved taking his kids to the Brewer games, hobby shops, tropical fish stores, and stamp shows. Peter loved bird watching from his kitchen window and loved getting to know the neighborhood squirrels and feeding them peanuts.
Peter had great and amazing talent as a woodworker and enjoyed many hours in his workshop creating cradles, shelves and small furniture. Peter enjoyed a good joke, a funny prank, a belly laugh, jazz and oldies but goodies music, dinner at Pandl’s restaurant and a gin and tonic with a twist of lime.
He knew the value of an honest hard day’s work which usually ended in a nap before dinner. He loved and supported his family endlessly, provided as much as he could and always made Christmas the best.
He will be missed greatly by those that loved him and knew him. We will miss his jokes, sense of humor, and his sarcastic outlook on life. Blessed is the life he lived and there is much comfort knowing that he is at peace and enjoying a beer with his buddies in heaven.
