Paul R. Schulze, 73, died unexpectedly Sunday, October 26, 2014, at his home in Pewaukee, WI. Born September 5, 1941, in West Allis, Wisconsin, the son of Otto P. and Emma Schantz Schulze, he graduated from Wauwatosa High School in 1959. He attended the University of Wisconsin at Madison. Paul received his D.D.S. from Marquette University School of Dentistry in 1966. He married Kristin Golz of Wauwatosa, WI, on June 27, 1964. He served as a Captain in the United States Air Force for two years before returning to Milwaukee in 1968 to start his career as a dentist, opening a practice in the Mayfair area of Wauwatosa. After 42 years running and expanding his practice, he became a Dental Consultant for DentaQuest in 2008, finally retiring from active dentistry in 2010, working full-time for DentaQuest until his untimely death. Paul served for 17 years on the GMDA Arbitration Committee, was an active member of the Dental Forum and served on the council of the National Board of Dental Examiners. An avid downhill skier, tennis player and golfer, he also enjoyed working in the garden and on house projects, even volunteering with Habitat for Humanity. He took home care seriously (a second snowflake was all it took for him to fire up the snow blower) and enjoyed pitching in to help his children work on their homes in Jim Falls and Eagle, WI, and Littleton, CO. He loved traveling, taking trips to Europe and ski vacations to Colorado, and especially looked forward to yearly vacations in Mexico with his entire family. He was a thoughtful caregiver, conscientiously attending to others' needs before relaxing with a glass of his favorite scotch and a good cigar. Preceded in death by his parents Otto and Emma, and his stepmother Elsie Schulze. He is survived by Kristin, his wife of 50 years; daughter Lisa (Arthur) Favelsky of Jim Falls and three children Emma, Greysen and Ben; daughter Andrea (Joseph) Smessaert of Eagle and daughter Jane; and son Eric (Jessica) and daughters, Taylor and Lauren. Also survived by two devoted cousins, Marliese (Ernie) Lasanski and Marika (Paul) Vasholz and nieces and nephews.
Visitation Saturday, November 8, at 3:00 PM, at the First Congregational Church, 1511 Church Street, Wauwatosa. Service at 4:00 PM, reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, to honor Paul's memory, memorials may be sent to Marquette Dental School, 1801 W. Wisconsin Avenue, Milwaukee, WI 53223. – See more at: http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/jsonline/obituary.aspx?n=paul-r-schulze&pid=173057965#sthash.ZvaQdm8o.dpuf
