The world has lost a beautiful soul while heaven has gained one. I felt so fortunate to have had Nick (dad) in my life but even more importantly, I could not have asked God for a more loving, gentle, accepting, kind Papou for my children. I have so many fond memories of him including his name day parties Mary threw for him back in the early days, the lambs he would roast to perfection every Easter, the road trip out west he took with the kids and I to see Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse, our stay in Custer National Park with an electrical storm that was simply magical! He was the skilled chauffeur on our mountainous , nail-biting trip through Greece, and helped me find my family's elusive village. I also loved watching the two Nikos together at the gyro stand. And he never missed wishing me a Happy Mother's Day which I so appreciated. I will miss him dearly but know he will watch over us for generations to come. May your memory be eternal Dad. Love always…Nancy

We have so many beautiful memories beginning when I was just a young girl and remember all the Name Day parties beginning on Murray Avenue and Mary dancing the "Tzamiko " like no one else could dance. The Sunday's at Lake Denune when the children were young and the feasts that we enjoyed at the beach. Those memories of working at the Century Coffee Shop in downtown Milwaukee as a newlywed. You always found a job for those of us in need. Crazy stories about our famous "Boozers Club" which included at least 9 couples at one time. What great times we had. We reminisce about our trip to Greek Town in Chicago with all the gang, and those who are no longer with us. Nick you will be missed by many who loved you and for being the kind person that you were. Bill & Donna

In loving memory of Nicholas Haralabos Markos. Nick demonstrated the surest path to the American Dream was through hard work, an inquiring mind, an attitude of service, and a kind and generous spirit. He helped so many to achieve their dream as well. It wasn’t all work and no play. He and his beloved Mary hosted holiday feasts fit for royalty and attended by family and extended family members. Even their Sunday dinners entertained a crowd with more coming for dessert after the meal. And the Century Coffee Shop had the best short ribs ever. Nick Markos created beautiful memories. His influence will be felt for generations.

Theo Niko- as everyone called him.... even MY friends from high school... was the sweetest man that always made you feel at home. I remember watching the kids for a long weekend ( Maria & Paul) and after they went to bed Nick would tell me stories of Greece as we watched TV together. He was my first " boss" at Niko's diner where we all had so much fun. He will be so missed by all of the lives he impacted. Sending so much love to you all. May his memory be eternal.
