The family of Nicoletta Schrimpf (nee Karabelas) share her passing on February 8, 2026.
Survived by her children Carl (Ann), Stephen (Steve), Nicholas (Carrie), Karen (Mark); Grandchildren John (Jessica), Tina (late-Dan), Nikki (Ryan), Matthew (Kassondra), Kathryn (Daniel) and Luke; Fourteen great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her parents, John and Bessie; her husband, Carlton; son, John (Lona); granddaughter, Michelle; Six siblings (Helen, Fegaro, Spiro, Anastasia, Kathryn, Michael) and many other cherished relatives and dear friends.
During her 94 years, Nicoletta lived a very full life. Born to Greek immigrants who settled in Wisconsin, she was proud of her heritage and her home state, including her favorite sports teams, the Brewers & Packers. Nicky and Carl were married for 55 years and raised five children in a loving home with deep devotion and Christian values. In that time, Nicky always felt it was important to stay close to her brothers’ & sisters’ families with numerous celebrations. The family’s summers included many memorable road trip vacations across the US. After living in the same house for 35 years, many neighbors became friends for life while enjoying their spirited bowling leagues and sheepshead card games.
Later, Nicky and Carl would retire to Florida making friends and new life experiences. However, Nicky deeply missed her children, and they eventually returned to Wisconsin. Nicky and Carl were actively involved in their Greek church including the many fundraisers. She was admired for the beautiful tablescapes she created for the fashion shows, as she had such an eye for art. It also showed her talent for organization and an appreciation for detail. These qualities made her an excellent bookkeeper throughout her working career as well.
Nicky was always enthusiastic into her 90’s about attending live music concerts with her family. These included an outdoor Neil Diamond concert as one of her favorites.
She also loved to fill her house with contemporary and classical music, including Zorba the Greek, a favorite she enjoyed while dancing with her grandchildren.
Her kindness and sense of humor will always be remembered.
Nicky was loved by many and will be held in our hearts forever.
May God Bless.
A sincere thank you to everyone at Shorehaven for their dignified and compassionate care.
