Nancy Ann Sheridan passed away at home with family by her side on Sunday, March 14, 2021, at the age of 80. Nancy was born in Milwaukee, WI on January 9, 1941, the daughter of Joseph and Eleanor (Wilkaski) Conrad.
Nancy served in the Navy from October 1959 to October 1962. In her retirement, she was passionate about her service to support Women Veterans. She was actively involved for many years with the American Legion Milwaukee Women’s Post 448, United Women Veterans in Madison, WI, and WAVES National. In addition to helping female veterans connect with needed resources to find success outside of the military, Nancy also loved to travel with other veterans. Whether it be on a cruise ship bound for the Caribbean, flying to Washington DC to visit the war memorial, or to a National Veterans conference in Florida, Nancy’s feisty energy helped her create and nourish long-time friendships that provided great joy to her life.
On June 15, 1968, Nancy married Linus Sheridan, moved to a home in Thiensville, WI where they built their life of 52 years together, and raised a family. Nancy is survived by her husband, Linus Sheridan, three children: Karen (Mark) Wissell, Korene (Keith Dunn) Sheridan, Mark Sheridan; her beloved grandchildren Dominic, Samantha, Shelby, and Carolynn. She is also survived by her brother James (Beverly) Conrad, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Eleanor along with her brother Gary Conrad.
Nancy will be laid to rest during an outdoor ceremony with military honors at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove, WI on Friday, April 9, 2021, at 2:00 PM.
