Nancy Lee Rands
(nee Koller) Reunited with her husband, Gary Rands on June 15, 2024, age 79. Step-mother of the late Dean Rands and Jeffrey (Janice) Rands. Grandma of 3. Dear sister of Gloria Czaplewski, the late Lois (the late Lawrence) Bielinski, the late Dennis Koller, Eileen (the late Keith) Kosanke, Beverly (Steven) Krause, Gerry (Paul) Gliszinski and Karen (Mark) St. George. She will be dearly missed by her beloved niece Danni (Brian) Lustro. Godmother of James Barringer, Heather Depies, Steven J. Krause and Matthew Czaplewski. Further survived by many other nieces, nephews, aunts, Ingy and Lorry, other relatives and friends.
She attended Riverside High School and was proud to have graduated a year early. From there she got a job with what is now known as J.C. Penny Co. in the warehouse, starting in the mailroom and rose in ranks to hold several executive positions. While working there she met her husband, Gary R. Rands. They married November 22, 1966. Nancy and Gary had many friends while still maintaining a loving, fully involved life with both of their families.
They also spent many happy years with family and friends in their place in Hatfield, WI, boating, fishing and attending many of the events there with friends and neighbors. After Gary’s death, Nancy spent more and more time with family and friends at home, attending various important events for all her many nephews and nieces. She traveled to visit family in Florida and Louisiana and also many times to her favorite place, Elvis’ Graceland.
Nancy helped with VBS and Forensics at Loving Shepherd Lutheran Church and School for many years and attended all the activities her nieces Amanda and Danni did, becoming known there and at WISCO High School by many of the students as “Aunt Nancy”. She loved being “Aunt Nancy” to not only her own family but to many of the students there. She is still referred to as “Aunt” to this day. She continued her beloved Aunt Nancy role at Concordia University and even to workers at Elmbrook Hospital until covid restrictions stopped life for most people, there was no family event that Nancy was not only part of but a major reason for all the fun we had.
As she always supported those in need, friends and loved ones have loved and rallied around her as her health declined. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her since her returning home to heaven to be with her God and Savior and Gary, plus other family and friends who journeyed home before her.
As she was extremely concerned about people, especially children going hungry, we are asking if you are so inclined to remember her, please make a donation in her name to Atonement Lutheran Church and School. The school office is located at 4224 West Ruby Avenue, Milwaukee, WI 53209.
Gathering at Atonement Lutheran Church, 4500 North Sherman Boulevard on Friday, June 28, 2024. Visitation from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM and a service at 5:00 PM.
