Nancy Catherine Kryshak (Cavanaugh) courageously departed from this life to her next on August 2, 2024 at the age of 92.
Daughter of Michael and Estelle Cavanaugh, she came to this earth on September 2, 1931. Preceded in death by her daughter Susan Anita (Sugar) and brother Michael Paul Cavanaugh, Nancy is survived by her husband & life partner of 69 years, Thaddeus (Ted) Francis Kryshak, with whom she had six children: Michael (Loretta), Kathy (Peter), Judy, Susan (Jay), Jean (Chris) and Timothy (Jennifer). She also leaves behind thirteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren (“the adorables”)… Nancy played an active role in all her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s lives—all of whom experienced the true meaning of love without reservation.
Nancy graduated from the University of Wisconsin (B.S) class of 1953, where she met Ted. Their first date was at a rally celebrating U.W.’s win to appear at the Rose Bowl. Ted served in Korea and they corresponded during his 15 months away. Four months after his return, they married in Milwaukee on November 20, 1954. Nancy returned to school and received her master’s in science in 1978 and worked for Milwaukee County as a CPA for 10 years.
Nancy, a devout Catholic, was known for her gregarious, cheerful, glass half-full attitude with her smile and laughter. In all respects she was a true life-partner to Ted and in her later years, they were rarely seen apart.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, August 9, 2024, from 10:00 AM, until time of Memorial Service at 11:00 A.M, at Clement Manor, 3939 South 92nd Street, Greenfield, Wisconsin.
