Passed away peacefully with his family by his side on April 22, 2024 at age 85. Generous and devoted husband of Judy for 59 years. Proud father of Michele (Dean) Plank, Michael S. Giordano, and Gina (Kevin) Jezuit. Loving Papa of Joshua Michael (Kirstin Buckley) Plank, Mitchell James (Joy Son) Plank, Rose Lorraine Jezuit, and Mikey Santo Giordano Jr.
Brother-in-law of Shirley McAdams. Also loved and will be missed by additional family members and many life-long friends.
Mike grew up in Illinois and got his start in the food business working as a bag boy and progressed to being a managing butcher. He moved to Wisconsin where he became a meat distributor for Vienna Beef and started his pickle making business, Deli-Dill. Mike was an entrepreneur who started Judy’s Red Hots, JoGio’s Italian Restaurant, New Mike’s Deli, and had a hand in starting many other businesses.
He was proud of his Italian heritage and enjoyed cooking homemade specialties for his family. He taught his kids and grandkids how to make pasta and other favorite recipes such as ravioli and gnocchi. Mike was an avid gardener, a car enthusiast who restored cars and drove in the Richard Petty Driving experience. He loved fishing and boating with family and friends on local lakes such as Okauchee and Beaver Lakes.
A Gathering will be held at Krause Funeral Home, 21600 West Capitol Drive, Brookfield, Wisconsin on Friday, April 26, 2024 from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM.
