Lost his brave 6-month battle with lung cancer Saturday, May 22, 2010, age 61. He is survived and admired by his devoted wife of 27 years, Linda (nee Schaetzke); his beautiful caring daughter, Kristine (Todd) Coomer; and his two grandchildren, McKenna and Jack Coomer, who were the light of his life. He is also survived by his mother Joanne (the late Gilbert), brothers Thomas (Donna), James and Steven (Debra), brothers-in-law Terrence (Kathy) and Thomas (Linda) Schaetzke, and many other relatives and friends. A celebration of Michael's life will take place at the Village Bowl, N86 W18330 Main St., Menomonee Falls, WI, on Wednesday, May 26, 6-9PM. Michael attended Carroll College and UWM, where he graduated with a BA degree in Geography. most recently, he was a Facilities Manager at AMF Waukesha. Michael was also an avid sports fan of auto racing, baseball, basketball, golf and a true, loyal Green Bay Packer fan all of his life. Special thanks go to his brother, Tom, for his dedication, regular visits and assistance with chores; to Al Hawthorne, for his help and friendship; and to Brian Stenson, for his total devotion, friendship and willingness to help with any thing at any time. Thanks also go to Oncology Alliance and Aurora Zilber Hospice, for all their special care. He will be missed by his cat Daisy, who was by his side watching over him throughout his illness. In lieu of flowers, memorials appreciated to the family.
