Meyer Rubinsky

Passed away Sunday, July 25, 2010, at the age of 87. Brother of Sally Strauss, Uncle of Howard Alter and family all of San Francisco. Cherished Godfather of Ryan (Christina) and Amanda McNichol. Meyer will be greatly missed by his extended "Milwaukee family" and many other friends. Visitation at the funeral home Thursday, July 29, from 4-7 PM. Time of Remembrance at 7 PM. Burial at Southern Wisconsin Veteran Cemetery, Union Grove. A retired teacher and employee of the City of San Francisco, Meyer moved to Wauwatosa to be near his Godchildren. An avid reader, writer and poet, Meyer was a member of the Hart Park Senior Center Writing Group. His salty humor and quick wit earned him the title of the "Oldest Stand-up Comedian" in Wisconsin with performances at Comedy Club, Stooges and Safe House, Milwaukee. A beloved figure in the village of Wauwatosa, Meyer will be remembered by his many friends and especially by the young adults and children whose lives he touched and who will always remember him affectionately as, "Uncle Meyer."
