Greg amd Nancy Mullen Charleston SC left a message on September 21, 2025:
Matt Mullen, a wonderful cousin and dear friend, will always be remembered for his warmth, kindness, and that unforgettable smile that lit up every room. To all who knew him, Matt was truly one of the best. During his time at Notre Dame, Matt’s life took a turn toward service when he entered Naval training. Stationed aboard a destroyer in 1980, he visited us in Charleston, and that moment of greeting him in his crisp Navy whites is one we will never forget. The image called to mind the charm of Richard Gere in An Officer and a Gentleman, with his very own Debra Winger in Pam by his side. Matt’s life was one of joy, laughter, and love. His presence enriched our family and touched all who were fortunate enough to know him. Though he is no longer with us, his memory will live on in the stories we share, the smiles he gave us, and the love he left behind. Fair winds and following seas our friend
