Died peacefully Monday, January 20, 2009, age 86. Husband of Simone (nee Balitout). Dad of Susan (Dan) Ryan, Charlotte Rogina, Tom (Anne Wall) Rogina and James (Karen) Rogina. Grandpa of Shelley (Sayeed) Ali, Elizabeth Rogina, Elizabeth, James, Antoinette and Katherine Kirk. Brother of Jacqueline Hennessey. Uncle of Tim (Sandy) Hennessey and Peggy Turngren. Step-father of Walter (Val) Kirk. Preceded in death by his former wife Josephine, Sister Lorraine Rogina, son-in-law Garry Rogers, grandson Andy Rogers, and step-son John Kirk. Memorial Gathering at HOLY CROSS LUTHERAN CHURCH, W156 N8131 Pilgrim Road, Menomonee Falls, Friday, January 30, 10:00 – 11:00 AM. Memorial Service at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers memorials to the Church are appreciated. Matthew proudly served as a major in the U.S. Army during WWII and was awarded the Bronze Star. He retired as the Vice-President of Building and Maintenance from the Milwaukee Journel Sentinel with over 42 years of service. He was a long-time member of American Legion Cudworth Post #23 and Elmbrook Lodge #354 F & A.M.
