Mary Lee Brown
January 6, 1945 – January 24, 2022
Entered God’s loving arms Monday, January 24, 2022, age 77. She was the daughter of the late Nat Brown and the late Beulah Mae Brown (nee Johnson). Beloved mother of Timothy (Jodi) Brown. Cherished granny of Adam (Melva) Beslic, Noah Larson, Symone Brown, the late Jordan Larson, Martika Brown and Jeremiah Brown. Treasured great granny of Trinity, London, Pheobe Beslic and Jaden Larson.
Mary grew up in Sharon, Mississippi where she attended school, played girls basketball and graduated from Velma Jackson High School “Class of 1965”. She carried the love of the game through her life along with football. Being at her house on game day was always a great time.
She was baptized at a young age and became a member of Lee’s Chapel A.M.E Zion Church, Sharon, Mississippi. After moving to Milwaukee, Wisconsin she joined Friendship Baptist Church where she enjoyed being a member and singing in the choir. Years later, she united with City of Faith, under the leadership of Rev. Michael A. Cokes Sr., and was honored to have the title, Mother Brown. She loved God and her church family.
She spent 33 ½ years working at General Electric, in Milwaukee but her favorite job and title was mother and granny. She had a heart of gold, was kind, loving, generous to a fault, funny and always had a smile on her face. Cooking was her passion, but it was also her way of showering everyone with love.
Mary was a bright light and she will be missed dearly by her friends and family.
