“In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.” John 14:2-3Continue Reading

“In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.” John 14:2-3
God gives man three things: birth, life and death. He makes the call and man is no more. So it was in the life of our beloved Mary Braddock-Young, who came through the lineage of Willie Braddock and Ada Bell Guyton on January 29, 1925 in New Albany, MS.
She accepted Christ as her personal Savior at an early age and exemplified a lovely Christian life. When she and her mother relocated to Milwaukee, she joined the Canaan Missionary Baptist Church where she was a faithful member of the music ministry.
Mary was married twice. Her first husband was Mr. Clifton Griffin. This union was blessed with one son. Later in life she married Mr. Julian Young, who preceded her in death. Mary relocated again. This time she moved to Detroit, Michigan, where she was a member of Hartford Memorial Baptist Church. While in Detroit, Mary was employed by the Chrysler Corporation and worked for many years until retirement. With her health failing, she moved back to Milwaukee to be closer to her son, at which time she became a member of the Mount Olive Baptist Church.
In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, playing piano, and doing volunteer work for the Democratic Party. She received personal recognition from former President Bill Clinton for her dedicated work and service to his campaign. At various times in her active life, Mary was a director of religious programming, announcer, producer and sales person for radio stations WNOV, WMIL and WAWA.
To know her was to love her, and her love and care will forever remain in our memory. The curtains are slowly closing, and we pause one by one to bid her bon voyage: loving and devoted son Terry (Adriane) Griffin of Milwaukee, WI; Seven Grandchildren: Terry Griffin of Detroit, MI, Terry (Tiffany) Griffin, of Phoenix, AZ, Terrell Griffin of Detroit, MI, Brittney (Akeem) Hart, Kece (Robert) Tillman, Lamar Johnson, and Tamarra Johnson, all of Milwaukee, WI.; Seven Great Grandchildren: Cheblby Armstrong, Terrell Griffin, Jr., Tyrell Griffin, Ariel Maddox, Dominique Tillman, Destiney Tillman, and Milani Johnson; Two special nieces; Bobbie Latham and Diane Walker; special friend Marcie Lovett, and a host of nieces, nephews, other fond relatives and friends.
